As built plans and supplemental agreements

As-built plans

As-built plans should:

  • Clearly illustrate what has changed compared to the original plan, so that the proposed changes can be verified and technically approved prior to a supplemental agreement.
  • Be based on an updated detailed topographical survey, rather than a relabelled agreement plan or Ordnance Survey based plan.
  • Be supplied as soon as is feasible before the provisional certificate of completion.

Supplemental agreements

Where required, supplemental agreements should:

  1. Include a plan illustrating what has changed against the original plan.
  2. Include a plan illustrating what has changed against the as-built plan.
  3. Illustrate any change in assets to be adopted because of the change.

Format of drawings

All drawings must be:

  1. Provided as an unlocked PDF.
  2. Provided in AutoCAD DWG and DXF formats.
  3. Where possible, highway boundaries and adoptable asset locations/extents provided in a vector GIS format (e.g. ESRI Shapefile, MapInfo TAB, GeoPackage etc.).  All digitised features should include attributes that align with the asset schedules referred to in paragraph xii.
